GHG Emissions Seminar

Seminar discussing how greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories are used to inform climate policy.

When: January 26, 2023 from 12:30 to 1:45 PM

Where: Western Colorado University, Rady Lecture Hall 106

Who: Rachel Meier and Nick Russell of Lotus Engineering and Sustainability

Understanding how and where greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are generated is the first step to reducing those emissions. Throughout Lotusʻ career, they have completed dozens of GHG emission inventories for local governments, nonprofits, utility companies, and private organizations. Guest lecturers, Rachel Meier and Nick Russell, will share how they use GHG data to help their clients develop climate action policies and programs, discuss what the major sources of GHGs are (some may surprise you), discuss ways to communicate the data so it can be easily understood by the public and decision makers, and answer questions regarding GHG accounting.
